PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH

This committee prioritizes promoting both physical and mental wellness. It organizes events and offers opportunities for Chapter members and the broader community to address health issues impacting the African-American population. This objective is achieved through partnerships with organizations dedicated to community well-being, hosting educational talks and events on health matters, facilitating social support networks through health-focused activities, and disseminating general health education and awareness.

Our Physical and Mental Health Programs

▲RCAC Moves

A monthly physical and mental health program where we meet to walk 1-3 miles in support of different health disparities such a mental health, breast cancer, HIV awareness, stress, and more.

▲Community Health Fair

A comprehensive and community-centered event aimed at promoting health and wellness among individuals and families. This fair typically brings together healthcare professionals, community organizations, and volunteers to offer a wide range of health services, resources, and educational activities to attendees.

▲Mental Health Seminars

The seminars provide a platform for education, awareness, and dialogue surrounding mental health issues within communities, with a focus on promoting mental well-being, reducing stigma, and increasing access to resources and support.

▲RCAC Weight Loss Initiative

Implements weight loss initiatives as part of its commitment to promoting health and wellness within communities, aiming to encourage individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles, make positive changes to their diet and exercise habits, and achieve their weight loss goals in a supportive and empowering environment.
