Educational Development
As a collective of college-educated women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. actively engages in the educational arena, aiming to inspire, encourage, and bolster the ambitions and accomplishments of youth and young adults. Our focus is on promoting and elevating academic excellence through various programs, resources, and scholarships. The primary aim of the committee is to craft and implement educational initiatives and events that will amplify RCAC's impact in the community, particularly in the realm of education.
Our Educational Development Programs
▲Delta Academy
Aimed to empower and uplift young African-American girls aged 11-14, the program is designed to provide participants with a supportive and nurturing environment where they can develop essential skills, explore their interests, and cultivate a strong sense of self-worth and leadership potential.
▲Delta GEMS
Delta GEMS is a transformative program within Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. designed to empower and support African American adolescent girls aged 14-18. The program aims to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to navigate adolescence successfully while preparing them for leadership roles in the 21st century.
▲Dorothy L. Stevens Scholarship
Recipients of the RCAC Dorothy L. Stevens Scholarship receive financial assistance to further their education and pursue their artistic endeavors. The scholarship may be used to cover tuition fees, academic expenses, artistic projects, or other educational pursuits related to the recipient's artistic interests and career goals.
▲MLK Essay Contest
The RCAC MLK Essay Contest provides students with an opportunity to develop their critical thinking, research, and writing skills, as well as to deepen their understanding of the importance of social justice and civic engagement.
